Owen grew up in the small town of Flandreau, South Dakota. While working at Royal River Casino as Table Games Director and starting a family, Owen pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Dakota State University, graduating magna cum laude. Owen received his J.D. from the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law, graduating with Sterling Honors. There, he served as a research assistant in estate planning matters and was an editor for the South Dakota Law Review. He is currently a board member of the West River Estate & Financial Planning Council.
Outside of work, Owen and is wife, Chantelle, are dedicated parents, caring for five active children, constantly navigating a whirlwind of kids’ activities and family commitments. Amid this active family life, they recently welcomed a new dog, Hoksila. Owen enjoys carving out time for hiking and finding peace and rejuvenation in the He Sapa. Balancing a busy household with moments of tranquility, he embraces both the challenges and joys of his work and vibrant family life.
