Paul L. Cremer

Paul grew up in Spencer, SD, and he later attended the University of South Dakota, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication, with minors in Business Administration and Political Science. He received his law degree from USD in 1996.

Paul served as an Assistant Attorney General from 1996 through 2022. During that time, he handled numerous appellate cases and argued several cases before the South Dakota Supreme Court. He then prosecuted criminal cases as a member of the criminal litigation division. He was the attorney for the South Dakota Office of Attorney General Consumer Protection Division for several years, working directly with consumers and businesses. Finally, he became the Director of the South Dakota Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, and he worked directly with federal and state healthcare agencies, and with healthcare practitioners throughout South Dakota.

He also served as the Executive Director of the State Bar of South Dakota, where he was the lobbyist for the State Bar. Paul is a member of the State Bar of South Dakota. He currently serves as a Director on the South Dakota Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the State Bar.
